NRA Basic Pistol Safety Class

Description

This Basic Pistol Safety Class is a requirement needed to acquire a firearm in Maui County.  Class objective is to teach the skills, knowledge and attitude that is required to own a firearm.  This class meets/exceeds Hawaii’s law of instruction and range time.  All classes are taught by current NRA Certified Instructors.

Class Topics: Current Maui County Firearms laws; Gun Safety Rules; Parts/Operation of Revolvers and Semi-Automatic Pistols; Ammunition; Fundamentals; Selecting and Storing of Firearms; Firearms Cleaning; Continuing Education and Hands On Exercises in Handling of Firearms (without ammunition) then Range Time with Live Fire.  (Class has a qualification completion using a .22 caliber firearm.)

What to Bring: (Firearms and Ammo will be provided as well as light refreshments)      light jacket, lunch, eye/ear protection (will be provided if needed), hat, closed toed shoes and NO low cut necklines on shirts.

What Students Will Receive:  NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules Brochure; Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program Booklet; NRA Pistol Examination

All students on completion will receive a Certificate of Completion along with Maui County’s Required Affidavit.*  (all affidavits and certificates will be mailed due to the requirement of a Notary Seal)
